How to read and write a letter to friends...
Reading and writing skills practice
Dear Sylvia and Joseph,
- Long time I haven’t spoken to you. I hope you are well.
- Finally, it’s summertime for me. The school year is over. We are having a longer summer break until the end of August.
- Well, it was a really long and busy school year full of different tasks. I was teaching English not only in Barcs at Deák Ferenc Primary School but in Babócsa as well. I had lessons in Babócsa 2 times a week with 5th and 6th graders. Besides there were new programs and activities that made this school year even more interesting and instructive. We started an exchange project with a Croatian school that ends in September. So far we had various active programs in Barcs and in Virovitica too. Within this project we would like to teach our students about natural scientific facts related to birds – especially sand martins and their habitats around the river Dráva. We also hope that with the help of this project the Hungarian students can make a long lasting connection/friendship with the Croatians.
- A week ago, my colleagues and I visited Slovenia for a day. This was a kind of ’end of school year gift’ trip from our headmaster. /Last year we were at the Lake Balaton./ In Slovenia we had a great time in Dobrovnik (we were at the Orchid farm&Energy park, Lake Bukonak) and Lendava.
- During this summer I am planning to relax a lot with some travelling, doing sports and practising a bit of German on my own.
- What are your plans for this summer?
- I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon.
- Best wishes.
Love,
Gertrud and family
